One of my favorite candy bars growing up was Twix bars. I loved the different layers and that delicious chocolate coating. I decided to create a homemade version of a Twix bar and they came out absolutely delicious! I gave them to friends and family and no one had any clue they were made with healthier ingredients. Definitely a win in my book! Bonus: they’re super easy to make. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
Shortbread Layer:
Caramel Layer:
Preheat oven to 350. Line a 9×9 glass pan with parchment paper.
Make the shortbread layer first. Add ingredients to a large mixing bowl and mix until combined. Spread into pan and bake for 9-11 minutes.
While the shortbread layer bakes, make the caramel. Add all ingredients to a medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil then let simmer for 10 minutes until creamy and thick, stirring constantly.
Let shortbread layer cool for 5-10 minutes then pour the caramel on top.
Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Melt chocolate and coconut oil and pour over the caramel layer. Freeze at least 30 minutes.
